索亚教授祝福神舟

Dear Yan,
I didn't know until I read it on a web story about the Chinese launch that this year was the 600th anniversary of the expedition of the explorer Zheng He into the Pacific and Indian Ocean. The exploration of space is something that appeals to the romantic in us all, especially those brought up on science fiction. This is a great achievement for China, especially after the recent disappointment of the failure of a European Space Agency launch a few days ago. Personally, I hope that space exploration will be a global rather than purely national enterprise in the future. If this is to happen -- and I know this sounds like a contradiction --more countries have to develop expertise in space. So congratulations to Shenzhou VI and all involved, and good luck to Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng!
